Culebra's Hidden Snorkeling Escape

Carlos Rosario Beach is one of Culebra's most beautiful and least visited beaches.

Its relative isolation has helped preserve its pristine natural beauty, making it a favorite for visitors seeking tranquility, unspoiled scenery, and a deeper connection with nature.

Part of the Culebra Nature Reserve, Carlos Rosario offers one of the island's most pristine and untouched coastal environments, inviting visitors to experience Culebra much as nature intended.

The Journey

Getting There

Reaching Carlos Rosario requires a little more effort than visiting some of Culebra's other beaches. Most visitors reach Carlos Rosario by hiking from Tamarindo Beach along a scenic nature trail, where the journey itself becomes part of the adventure.

While the hike is considered moderate, it requires a willingness to explore and rewards those who enjoy discovering places that remain beautifully untouched.

For many visitors, the hike becomes part of the experience, making the arrival at Carlos Rosario feel even more rewarding.

Solitude & Stillness

A More Remote Experience

One of the reasons Carlos Rosario remains so peaceful is that reaching it requires a little more effort than visiting beaches like Flamenco or Tamarindo.

The hike naturally limits the number of visitors, helping preserve the peaceful, unspoiled character that makes Carlos Rosario so special.

For travelers seeking a quieter, more secluded side of Culebra, Carlos Rosario offers the rare opportunity to experience nature in one of the island's most unspoiled settings.

Then & Now

A Piece of Recent History

Years ago, visitors could reach Carlos Rosario through a trail that began near Flamenco Beach.

However, because unexploded military ordnance from past military exercises still remained in the area, that access route was permanently closed to protect public safety.

Today, visitors reach Carlos Rosario by following alternative trails that safely lead through the Culebra Nature Reserve.

A Beach Apart

What Makes Carlos Rosario Different?

Unlike Flamenco Beach, known for its facilities and family-friendly atmosphere, or Tamarindo Beach, celebrated for its exceptional snorkeling, Carlos Rosario offers one of the most peaceful, wild, and immersive natural experiences in all of Culebra.

Its limited access helps preserve a rare sense of solitude that has become increasingly difficult to find in today's world.

Visitors who enjoy hiking, exploring, and discovering Culebra's hidden treasures often find Carlos Rosario to be one of the island's most rewarding experiences.
